How to Forward a Domain Name with GoDaddy Hosting
This is the video transcription:
This is doctor Michael Haley with http://www.seowebmeeting.com and we are going to answer a question about domain names. Let me go to GoDaddy and log in. The question is if you have one of those domain names, you maybe have another web site and you have an extra domain name, maybe it’s the domain name that’s on all of your stationary, but it’s not your best web site. Let’s say that you want that to go not to a web site but maybe point to another web site that’s established. I’ll give you an example. If I go to the domain name http://www.drhaley.com I’m going to enter – instead of that going to http://www.drhaley.com, notice that it goes to my www.mybiopharmacy.com. It’s a kind of like an affiliate type of web site. This is not my web site. It’s my domain name that’s pointed to this so it automatically changed here. That’s called domain forwarding.
So, let me close that, and from GoDaddy, maybe view your domain names in the domain manager, and find the domain name that you’re interested in. In this case, http://www.drhaley.com is an example. And you can take a look right up here. There’s a forwarding button. It says “Forward Your Domain”. Alright, this is if you don’t want to go to a web site, but you want to actually forward it. And, let me click on that forwarding button and see what happens. We go to a screen where you can actually edit that, and here it tells you it goes to the http://www.mybiopharmacy.com/a/1042/. If I wanted to edit that forwarding thing, I can. Alright? but I’m good with it so I’m gonna cancel out of here.
That’s it: “Forwarding a Domain Name”. I’m Michael Haley with http://www.seowebmeeting.com I hope that was helpful. See ya.
